TASKS
In light of the readings listed above, discuss your thoughts with
your spouse. Come into agreement about what God desires you as a
couple to be and examine the plan He has for your lives and your marriage.
1. (15-30 minutes) Discuss with your spouse the Generational Sins
each family line has brought into your marriage. Share your thoughts
with each other and their affect on your marriage and how together,
with God's help, you can break the cycle for the next generation.
Remember it is you, your spouse and God against the sin / Satan / or
issue, NOT YOU AGAINST YOUR SPOUSE :) (Genesis 1-5)
2. (15-30 minutes) Discuss the Spiritual Gifts you and your spouse
have been blessed with. It is important to know what gifts your
spouse possesses so that you can move in harmony, respectfully with
one another and help each other meet their God given callings. A lot
of times we become frustrated in our lives and marriages because we
are unable to utilize our gifts. As marriage partners, we are to help
each other meet this goal and maximize who God called us to be. (Romans12:6-8)
3. (15-30 minutes) Create a written "God Vision" for your
marriage: One that the husband can and will lead and that the wife
can submit to (help with/support). NOTE: Review "What is a
Man" for a working definition of "submission." He
breaks down the word into its prefix (sub) and root (mission). The
idea is that the husband and wife come together to establish and
agree on a vision/mission for the family that is blessed by God. Then
the husband leads in the effort to follow it and the wife works to
support her husband's leadership.
